The Cinder’s Wood Fire Grill & Craft Bar has been serving creative, delicious food, drinks and dessert within the restaurant and providing the best catering services in Morris County, New Jersey, for many years. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020, we were forced to change the facet of our restaurant.
We are happy to announce the opening of our new Cinders Gourmet Market. Our incredible chef is keeping his creativity alive by providing some of the same foods, drinks and desserts our customers have loved and raved about for the past years.
The addition of our new Cinders Gourmet Market layout has also enabled us to expand on our flavorful food, delightful drinks and tasty desserts, offering more of a variety.

The mastermind behind our distinctive innovative freshly prepared food is Executive Chef John Frade who brings enticing culinary skills to Cinders Gourmet Market. Chef Frade began his restaurant career in 1974 as a dishwasher & busboy, where he began to learn the ins & outs of the restaurant business. In 1980 he opened his first business Frade’s Deli. After a brief change of career he went back to his first love and opened Great Cove, which he entirely transformed into Big Daddy”s Grill. Constantly honing is skills he then move on and opened Island View Café.
Chef Frade is self-taught with major influencing coming from his Mother & Father who were always cooking Italian Portuguese cuisine. Chef Frade then grew into a much larger role as Chef de Cuisine at the Jefferson House along with Chef Wilpert who he credits for teaching him the fine art of German & French Cuisine. After a 9 year stint at the Jefferson House, he ventured onto the Black River Barn as Chef de Cuisine where eventually became a partner. In 2010 the partners opened Cinders Wood Fire Grill which would allow him to bring his wealth of culinary skills to a whole new level which he still performs to this day. His Family is what made Cinders thrive over the years. Without his family none of this would be possible.
Janine Frade Front of the House General Manager- Janine has a long history in the sales field and customer service in the eyeglass industry. After 39 years of marriage to her Chef husband She has been by his side and learned the business from the back end to the front of the house, which she took control of in 2013. At Cinders she has elevated the staff & her own skills to bring top notch customer service in a friendly manor to our guests. Her hard work and determination is the backbone of Cinders to bring it to all new highs.
Robert Frade – Sous Chef & Kitchen Manager- Roberts has been around the food industry since the early age of 5 by constantly being by his fathers side everyday and absorbing every ounce of knowledge from cooking, plating and serving each dish. At the age of 13 he started his career carving meats and making omelets at the Jefferson House. In 2001, he began working as a prep
cook at the Black River Barn and moved up the ladder from prep, fryer to saute Chef. In 2018, he moved over to kitchen manager at Cinders. He learned the art of making Sushi which brought Cinders to a whole new level of distinctive cuisine. To this day Robert still works beside father.
